How to Teach a Child to Create Music in the 21st Century?
Dear colleagues and friends! I am pleased to present my methodological guide, "Is It Easy to Create Music?" (Chy prosto stvoryty muzyku?)
Many music school graduates close their piano lids forever right after their final exams. Why? Because they were taught to reproduce, but not to create. Traditional systems are often centered on mechanical memorization, which causes the instrument to lose its appeal to the child (pp. 7, 10).
My curriculum, "Piano and Musical Creativity" (officially recommended by the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine), changes the rules of the game:
• ✅ We don’t just teach notes — we teach how to breathe through them, how to improvise, and how to express one's inner world (p. 13).
• ✅ We bridge the gap between classical piano and modern technology — composition lessons are integrated with mastering professional software such as Band-in-a-Box, Cubase, and Adobe Audition (0.1.26–0.1.29).
• ✅ The result is a tangible creative product — students advance from the very first note in their notebook to recording a professional audio CD of their own original music (p. 32).
ABOUT THE GUIDE (ANNOTATION)
This guide is a systematic course designed to foster the creative intelligence of students in extracurricular arts education centers (pp. 3, 5).
